Now Playing | Five New Songs You Need To Hear Now

Each week we are hit with a variety of new music to choose from. It can be a bit overwhelming, which leads many of us to revert back to music we’re familiar with. It’s easier that way for most, but we’re different and in constant need of new entertainment. It may just be a case of FOMO, but whatever the reason, we love good music. Every Friday, we compile the best new music of the week, alongside outstanding material from the past few weeks into a playlist known as ‘A Curation of Sound.’ After living with our selections, we then go a deeper dive to pull out five new songs that you might be sleeping on, from artists you might not be familiar with.

This week offers a slew of excellent new material, but these five new songs below are special. We’ve included a stunning new track from Jessie Reyez, who you should be familiar with. However, we’ve included remarkable new material such as “Becoming” from Diana Gordon, DeathbyRomy’s new single “Problems,” and “Northside” from Ama Lou. Kash Doll also dropped off a new heater entitled “Mobb’n,” which shouldn’t be slept upon.

Trust us, or don’t, these are five new songs that deserve to be apart of your listening experience. Thank us later. Listen to these five new tracks below and keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more new music arriving daily.

“Becoming” by Diana Gordon

She might be known for her work behind the scenes, but Diana is looking to break out on her own. “Becoming” is just the latest from the singer/songwriter, and it’s certainly one of the most contagious tracks of the week. Driven by these groovy drum sections, punchy and bass-laden, the track makes a nice home for Ms. Gordon to do her thing. She does so over these ethereal synth sections, cooking up something impressive and addictive. Press play!

“Far Away” by Jessie Reyez

We love everything that Jessie Reyez does. This is no different. “Far Away” finds the songstress delivering her uncanny vocals, getting down over the top of this laid back, pulsing instrumental. The track is pushed by these mellow synths, which are paired with some punchy mid-tempo drum sections. The track has a retro vibe that we can’t get enough of, and Jessie’s uncanny vocals are the icing on the cake. Check this one out asap!

“Problems” by DeathbyRomy

This one caught us off guard. The track opens with something catchy and expands from there. DeathbyRomy provides something light and infectious, pushed by these retro-sounding piano melodies, which are brilliantly blended with some deep, punchy drum work. The combination is highly addictive, reminding us of artists like BANKS and Billie Eilish. Get familiar with DeathbyRomy. Check out the new track here and add it to your rotation asap.

“Mobb’n” by Kash Doll

Detroit’s very own, Kash Doll, brings the lyricism this week. This one is gritty, menacing, and intense; everything we love about a good rap song. The lyricist shows off her rapid-fire delivery and effortless talents behind the mic. The track is pushed by a haunting melody, which is paired with these street rattling drum sections. Kash Doll takes to the instrumental and lets loose of her lyrical prowess, providing something impressive and energetic. Don’t sleep on it. Press play and turn up!

“Northside” by Ama Lou

Another artist you should have on your radar immediately. Ama Lou is back with another contagious new single. “Northside” is further proof that the ladies are killin’ the game right now. This smooth new single is pushed by some rattling, energetic drum work, which is paired with a rolling synth section. The combination has a distinctly ‘90s feel while Ama Lou flawlessly shows off her vocal talents over top. This one is something special, and it’s our favorite of the week for obvious reasons. Stay tuned for more from Ama Lou.
