Rare Rides | 2006 Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE

Nearly five decades ago, Paul Smart and his Ducati 750 won the Imola 200. This marked the beginning of the brand’s journey in motorcycle racing. Back in 2006, Ducati decided to pay homage to the racer and his achievement by creating a new line of modern bikes with design elements from the era. This resulted in the Paul Smart 1000 LE, Sport 1000, and GT1000. Today we get a look at a near-mint 1000 LE. This striking machine is still encased in its shipping crate.

The bike boasts a vintage aesthetic while host to a dose of modern engineering technology. The bike is powered by an impressive 1,000 cc L-twin engine pushing out 92 horsepower. The bike’s suspension system was created by Öhlins, while also boasting brakes from Brembo. The bike is also host to a six-speed transmission, a wet clutch, and a trellis frame painted in a shade of green. To top things off, the bike is also signed by Mr. Smart, adding to its allure and appeal.

Take a closer look at this incredible machine in the images below and head over to Bonhams to find out more. Place your bid and keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more motorcycles and custom rides coming very soon.
