What goes better with this change of season than a great beer? Not much. However, then again, beer goes with just about anything. For fans of beer, and well, for fans of Fall, The State of Michigan is celebrating today’s fall equinox with the announcement of the first-ever state-inspired IPA. Pure Michigan has partnered with a local favorite brewing company to create a first-of-its-kind IPA. Pure Michigan paired with Short’s Brewing Company for Pure Michigan Autumn IPA.
The blend aims to highlight the ’s agricultural bounty and nationally recognized craft beer industry. This blend is sure to be nothing short of stunning. Though ranked #5 in the nation for breweries, microbreweries, and brewpubs, Michigan is the first to create a state-inspired beer. The Autumn IPA aims to inspire travel during the state’s most scenic season. Autumn IPA will first be available at Short’s Pub, in Bellaire, Michigan, on Oct. 4, and on Oct. 5 it will be featured alongside several other Short’s Brewing Company craft beers at the second annual Chicago Rare and Wild Beer Fest.

The beer will also be available at the Detroit Fall Beer Festival, at Eastern Market, on Oct. 25-26. Dave Lorenz, vice president of Travel Michigan, spoke about the brew. He stated: “Fall is a special time in Michigan, as the fall colors provide a great setting for scenic drives, hikes and tasting tours whether that be donuts and apples or wine and brews.” Mr. Lorenz added, “With their taproom in Bellaire, Michigan, and passion for local flavors, Short’s has been a pioneer in Michigan’s evolution as a craft beer destination, making them the ideal partner for a Pure Michigan-themed beer to toast the fall season.”
