Snow Style! Burton Unveils New Collaboration With Virgil Abloh

Known for crafting outerwear ready for the slopes, Burton is back with something new. The label returns to reveal its second collaboration with the late designer and creative, Virgil Abloh. The limited-edition collection has been in the works for two years, including ten snowboards, boots, and bindings. The Virgil Abloh™ “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund will digitally auction the exclusive snowboards on Tuesday, March 15th.

Following the auction, a selection of snowboards and more will be available through Burton’s website. Adrian Josef Margelist, Chief Creative Officer at Burton, stated: “It was very important to Virgil that his next collaboration with Burton stand for something, that it share a larger message, so he created a manifesto to guide the collection.”

An excerpt from the Virgil Abloh Burton Manifesto reads: “PRODUCT THAT BY ITS EXISTENCE NOT ONLY STANDS AS EVIDENCE FOR THE EVOLUTION OF A SUBCULTURE AND SPORT BUT BECOMES AN ARTIFACT WHICH PROVES THAT DIVERSITY WITHIN SNOWBOARDING IS NOT ONLY AN IDEA, IT’S ACTUALLY HAPPENING, CARE OF BURTON and VIRGIL ABLOH™.” In honor of Abloh’s life and work, Burton will also donate $300,000 USD over three years to advance BIPOC representation in snowboarding.

The auction is slated to kick off at 12:00 p.m. ET on March 15th at pmfbrtn.givesmart.com, with bids starting at $1977 USD in honor of Burton’s founding. Check out the new collection in the images and place your bids soon. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more style and fashion news coming very soon.
