Speed Returns | Acura Type S Concept

The arrival of the NSX has started to shake up the Acura lineup, thanks to the debut of the Type S concept. It’s been a decade since Acura has put a Type S on the road, though now a new concept car has auto fans hyped about what’s next. Today we get our first look at the Type S Concept. The design seems to point towards a needed change at Acura, offering a stylish yet sporty look and appeal.

The Type S Concept features the Diamond Pentagram grille, though scaled-down in size. This scaled-back approach allows for a sharper look with taut lines and a lower stance. The ride features a fastback silhouette boasting windows with no pillars. The pillars come replaced with window glass, an interesting design that we hope to see on the production model. The ride features quad exhaust outlets and 21″ wheels with Brembo brake calipers visible beneath.

So far, Honda has offered no details about what’s under the hood, though we have our own hopes and desires. The new Type S concept is set to go on public display during the Monterey Car Week. If it’s anything like their A-spec designs, we’re certainly excited to see what Acura has up their sleeve.

Take a closer look at the Type S Concept in the images below and stay tuned for much more from Honda/Acura coming very soon. In other automotive-related news, be sure to check out the latest creation from Manhart. They recently unveiled an updated and upgrade M8 that will blow your mind!
