Stripes in the City | adidas x Foot Locker Create A Milan-Inspired AM4

Throughout 2019 adidas and Footlocker will be pairing up to drop off particular iterations of the eye-catching AM4 silhouette. Each new release will draw inspiration from one of four European cultural capitals, kicking off back in May with the Berlin iteration. The sneakers will tap into their respective city’s history, and it certainly struck a fitting tone for the Berlin AM4. This time around Milan is the next city on the list, with the design coming from the great folks at the Milanese art collective Otln Studio. This group of talented, passionate mixed-media artists and creatives, designing an AM4 reflects the studio’s experience of growing up in the area.

Otln Studio spoke about the silhouette, and it’s inspirations. They stated: “We love our city, its neighborhoods, history, and people. It’s an honor and a dream to be able to design a shoe based on the city that inspires us daily as creators.” The design studio went on to add that the sneaker aims “To tell the story of Milan by the design of a sneaker, we used three colors that represent key features of the city. Dark grey represents the hood we grew up in, off-white represents the historical Milan cathedral and a bright coral color is used in subtle details to point out Milan’s important relationship to fashion.”

The sneakers are set to drop on July 31st and will be limited to just 500 pairs. The Milan-inspired AM4 will drop exclusively at Milan Foot Locker stores and on Foot Locker’s web store. Each pair also comes in a special collector’s edition box, with an illustration depicting the Milan city map. Take a look at the sneakers in the images and look out for more from adidas, as well as Footlocker coming soon.
