Style & Sneakers | The atmos x adidas Wild ZX Alkyne “Crazy Animal”

When atmos and Adidas Originals collaborate, heads always turn. This time is no exception. In a theme we’ve seen explored by atmos a few times before, they’ve called in some help from the Animal Kingdom once again. The “Crazy Animal” ZX Alkyne has its eye on the throne for King of the Jungle with this upcoming release, though. Neither predator nor prey is absent from the color palette. The already dope ZX Alkyne didn’t need this much help, but damn are we glad they got it. A stroll in these looks like Noah showing off the All-Stars of the Arc two by two, one on each foot.

An elaborate and multi-dimensional stacked and over-laid mix of panels provides ample opportunity to get wild from every angle. Our trip around Shoe Zoo introduces us to cow, leopard, cheetah, and giraffe patterns. Tiger stripes bring the eyelets to life while a slick white snakeskin accents the fore and midfoot. It ties in so nice; you’d almost forget snakes don’t even have feet.

The atmos and Adidas ZX Alkyne might provide some raw, animalistic performance to these terrible hooves we’ve evolved as well. A basketball based midsole features a zebra-striped full BOOST suspension setup wrapped in a smoked translucent shell to highlight and protect the soft stuff. Traditional white and gum outsoles couldn’t possibly overpower this design, but instead, they complement it perfectly.

These release on the endangered list with a plan for 100 pairs. They will be made available via an online raffle and at atmos Tokyo on July 25th. MSRP is set at 16,000 JPY (approx $150 USD.) For more collaboration and fresh release news, keep an eye on the #Style section of theculturecurators.com.
