On April 8th Syd will return with her highly-anticipated album, Broken Hearts Club. The project will serve as a follow-up to her 2017 release, Fin. The artist returned recently with a brand new single, her first from the upcoming opus. The track is called “Could You Break A Heart” and finds Syd pairing up with the smooth sounds of Lucky Daye.
Syd also opened up about the new album, which will “chronicle the ebbs and flows of a relationship from beginning to end.” The artist went on to add, “The album is about a relationship I had that ended in my first real broken heart.” She continued, “It almost felt like I joined a club because all of my friends went through similar experiences. It was like a rite of passage. I started writing the album on the relationship when I was in love. You’re really getting the whole journey from the beginning to the end. I want people to find it beautiful. It’s super vulnerable, sentimental, and it’s soft. There’s touching moments and a couple of dark moments.”
The new single, “Could You Break A Heart,” is infectious while arriving with a matching visual that will certainly catch your eye. Whatever you have planned today, make sure this new single is a part of it.
