The one and only, Thundercat is back. The artist is gearing up to serve up his new album, ‘It Is What It Is,’ and today he’s back with a new single. This time around, Thundercat serves up a smooth new single entitled “Fair Chance.” The track arrives after “Black Qualls” and “Dragonball Durag,” and he provides something deep and meaningful. The track finds the artist reflecting on the loss of his Mac Miller, with help from Ty Dolla $ign and Lil B. The trio brings a dose of their respective talents, opening up about how fame is sure to change relationships.
Thundercat recently opened up about the track and its connection to Mac. He said, “When he passed, it shook the ground for the artist community… Ty’s a strong dude, and when he heard the song, he knew exactly what it should be.” The artist went on to add, “I was there when he recorded it. We talked about what it was, and he did what he felt was right to it, and I love what he did.” The track was produced by Sounwave, who laced the trio with something contagious and impressive.
