It’s been a busy Summer for Vic Mensa. The Windy City representative has been cranking out a bunch of new music as of late. He’s back with more of the same today, unleashing a new track today entitled “Summer’s Over.” This new single arrives after Mr. Mensa tapped into his rock roots with the album, 93 Punx. “Summer’s Over” finds Vic getting back into his rap lane, offering up something quite smooth and highly infectious. “Summer’s Over” finds Vic pairing up with the G.O.O.D. Music-affiliated producer Keyon Christ.
The track finds the duo showing off the best of their respective talents, creating something impressive and infectious, to say the least. The track is pushed by these snappy, hard-hitting drum sections which are seamlessly paired with some catchy melodic elements. Both fellas showcase their respective talents, Vic behind the mic and Keyon behind the boards. The result is something special, something that Vic recently opened up about. The wordsmith stated: “Keyon’s sonic landscape is so unique that even with a pretty straightforward lyrical direction it’s still going to sound like nothing you’ve ever heard before.” He added, “We were really just having fun with it.”
