Vic Mensa returns after serving up his V TAPE in 2020 and his I TAPE earlier this year. Today the Chi-Town representative is back with something brand new for our listening enjoyment. This time he serves up an impressive new single called “The Taste.” The track finds Vic pairing up with fellow Chicagoan BJ The Chicago Kid and Papi Beatz.
The track is just the latest from Vic, who previously worked with BJ on “Holy Holy” from Vic’s INNANETAPE. “The Taste” finds the trio showing off their respective talents, providing us something unadulterated and highly contagious. The track is driven by a slick combination of melodies that will instantly get hooked in your head, while crisp drum work supplies a nice rhythm section. Vic and BJ showcase their respective abilities flawlessly, while Papi Beatz shows off his abilities behind the board. The track is also brought to life in a fitting, old-school-inspired video.
