The one and only, Raphael Saadiq is back. As you probably know by now, the iconic soul singer recently unleashed his latest album, ‘Jimmy Lee.’ The project is Mr. Saadiq’s first album in eight years, and as expected, he doesn’t disappoint. The artist is gearing up to drop off a new short documentary exclusively on Apple Music.
The film, ‘Behind Raphael Saadiq’s Jimmy Lee,’ will arrive on Apple Music on October 8th. The documentary will find the singer/songwriter opening up about life, family, and music. The film features testimonies from family members and collaborators as well as stories Saadiq had yet to share publicly. The other day the artist sat down with Ebro Darden on Apple Music’s Beats 1.
The two sat down to discuss the film and the new album. Raphael Saadiq opened up about everything from making the album, how it became a form of therapy and more. He even speaks in-depth about individual tracks on the album. The album is littered with standouts, which we’re certainly intrigued to hear more about.
