If you’re not a fan of Raphael Saadiq, we can’t be friends. Today the singer/songwriter is back, and he returns with his fifth solo album. Raphael Saadiq is one of music’s most enduring and influential artists. This man has been serving up some impressive material for years, though it’s been a while since he’s dropped off an album. That all changes right now!
Today he serves up an infectious new opus entitled ‘Jimmy Lee.’ The album is his first full-length project since 2011’s Stone Rollin. Along the way, Mr. Saadiq puts together a shining example of his talents. Loaded up with thirteen tracks, the project includes the singles “Glory To The Veins” and “Something Keeps Calling.” Raphael does his thing and does it well as expected, linking up with few guests in the process.
The project includes contributions from Kendrick Lamar, Ernest Turner, Rob Bacon, Daniel J. Watts, and Reverend E. Baker. ‘Jimmy Lee’ is smooth and contagious, another solid addition to Raphael’s impressive catalog. Do yourself and your Friday a favor. Check out this new opus in the stream below. Keep it locked for more new music coming soon and look for the latest installment of ‘A Curation of Sound’ coming very soon.
