Artful Homage | The Real Project Honors Kobe Bryant In “8-24” Exhibition

Basketball is art, and the Hong Kong art initiative The Real Project is celebrating one of its best. They have put together an artful homage to the late basketball icon Kobe Bryant. The exhibition, dubbed “8-24,” celebrated Kobe’s birthday on August 23rd. The exhibit includes the curation of two international artists, as well as artworks from six local artists. The “8-24” exhibition was overseen by Joey Thye along with curator Michael Li.

Adam Lister and Santlov shared artwork for the exhibit, as well as artists such as Lousy, Peep Projects, Happy Fung, Sheep Gallery, Twxxi, and Sukiii59. The event came together to “commemorate and mourn Kobe as a legendary star.” It also was a way to remember “The Black Mamba spirit which created miracles during difficult situations” through “persistence, courage, strength, and kindness.”
