Looking for some new listening material to help you get you through your day? Well, look no further. The one and only August Alsina is back, and he returns with his highly anticipated new album. The crooner has dropped off his latest opus, ‘The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy.’ The project marks his first release in five years, his last project being 2015’s This Thing Called Life.
The singer/songwriter has been battling a severe auto-immune disease called Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), and he also took on being the guardian to his three nieces after his sister lost a battle with cancer back in 2018. Since then, he’s kept his head high and has pushed through to create some new music. Mr. Alsina has delivered something special with this one, cooking up a solid showcase of new material.
He recently opened up about his journey over the past few years. August stated: “While on my journey, I’ve discovered that life is like one huge puzzle with limitless pieces.” He went on to add, “I’ve been putting the pieces of my puzzle together with my new music and documentary.”
The new album The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy also arrives with a five-part documentary called stateofEMERGEncy: The Rise of August Alsina. Alsina went on to say, “The goal of this project is to expose myself through the art and to help others reveal their true selves.” He added, “Go back into the past, bring it into the present and positively impact our future. I want to show the community that we’ve all had to overcome some type of obstacle. Some greater than others, but pain is pain… and pain and its threshold is subject and different for each individual.”
