This weekend was packed full of incredible new music releases. While we’ve served a ton of new music over the past few days, Blu and Damu the Fudgemunk also surprised us with something new. The duo released a new effort entitled ‘Ground & Water.’ The Los Angeles emcee and D.C. producer cook up something impressive and contagious. Each one brings the best of their ability, providing us with a solid collection of new sounds.
A metaphor for beats and rhymes, Ground & Water finds Blu behind the mic and Damu behind the boards. Along the way, they get some assistance from CashUs King, Shawn Jackson, Raw Poetic, Yamin Semali, and Local Blacc. Damu opened up about the project, speaking about his goal with the project.
The producer stated: “Like all my releases, most of which are instrumental, I wanted the music to tell a story. With Blu being the voice, he set the tone for us both to bring this to life”. He then added, “When you listen to the lyrics and digest the subject matter, there’s a lot of depth in his words. I wanted to provide a similar depth in the music”.
The project is filled with exceptional new tracks.
