HBO is looking for its next big thing in terms of original programming. Since ‘Game of Thrones’ came to an end, HBO has served up some impressive new programs, though nothing quite like ‘Got.’ Today they are back, serving up a new look at the highly anticipated series ‘His Dark Materials.’ Unlike the previous trailers we’ve seen, this one puts the focus on the girl placed in the middle of the action.
The trailer is an informal introduction to Lyra, providing just over a minute of new scenery from the show. The clip finds the young heroine prepping for an adventure, before realizing that other young children have begun to go missing. Lyra takes it upon herself to help, something she feels destined to do. The series is based on the bestselling novels by Philip Pullman. The series is set in an alternate world where one’s soul manifests as a shape-shifting animal called a Daemon. The new trailer certainly builds more hype of our end of the show, though we are still trying to grasp the context of the overall plot.
The series also stars James McAvoy, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Anne-Marie Duff, Clarke Peters, and Ruth Wilson. Check out the intense new trailer for ‘His Dark Materials’ in the video below and keep it locked for an official release date from HBO coming soon.
