Coming Soon | HBO Drops The First ‘Watchmen’ Trailer

HBO has a history of providing incredibly original programming, especially when it comes to their series’. They’ve given us Oz, Rome, The Wire, The Sopranos, and oh yeah, that little series, Game of Thrones. HBO is looking for their next great series, and they’ve got a handful of great options coming down the line.

Certainly one of our most anticipated shows coming this Fall, HBO is building the hype for their upcoming ‘Watchmen’ adaptation. The first full trailer for Damon Lindelof’s HBO Watchmen adaptation was recently released on the second day of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The series will e led by Regina King, and as we’ve seen from previously released clips, the show will not follow Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ original graphic novel.

The trailer shows elements that lead us to believe that Doctor Manhattan could have his hand in the show, while we do see Silk Spectre Laurie as an FBI agent as well as a headline that notes the death of Ozymandias. The series is intended to run as a sequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ original book, with the show’s events sent ten years in the future.

Regina King is joined by Jeremy Irons who portrays Ozymandias. Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, and Jean Smart also start in ‘Watchmen.’ Check out the eye-catching new trailer in the video below and look for ‘Watchmen’ this Fall of HBO.
