Jared Evan returns with a soulful and engaging single “Dark Days” that addresses some of the struggles during his major label days. After 9 years with Zone 4/ Interscope Records, Jared is back with new music after signing with EP Entertainment in 2018. “Dark Days” is his latest single release. Discussing the pressure and expectations of an artist in today’s music industry, the struggle is palpable on this track. The soulful vocals and thought-provoking rap bars highlight the diversity required by some to succeed as an artist. The battle between self-doubt and pride plays out through the verses.
The track is produced by Jared Evan and Arthur MacArthur. It hits just right. Perfectly balanced piano and bass line. The tempo draws you in. Vocals and rhymes find their place in multiple spots on the track. Darkness, hope, caution, and growth all bounce through the beat and take you along for the ride.
We can only hope the full-length album is coming sooner than later. If this is in line with what the rest of the album has in store for us, it’s safe to assume Jared Evan may be able to put his dark days behind him and enjoy his place in the spotlight again.
