Want to get behind the wheel of the first retail production model of the new GMC Hummer EV? Well, here is your opportunity. The good folks over at Barrett-Jackson are auctioning off the GMC Hummer EV for charity. 100 percent of the proceeds will go toward the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Tower Foundation. While the entire production run for the new vehicle sold out within 10 minutes of registration, this might just be your second chance at getting one.
The vehicle comes with serial number VIN 001, boasting those impressive specs that we heard about a few months back. The four-wheel-drive is powered by three motors that combine to push 1,000 horsepower. That equates to a 0-60 mph time of just three seconds. The new Hummer will come with a bevy of unique features as well.
The ride is host to GMC’s CrabWalk feature with four-wheel steering, an adaptive air suspension system, and 18-inch wheels with beefy Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires. Other features include underbody cameras and additional armor such as rock sliders. The Hummer EV also boasts an Infinity Roof design that lets you remove the glass for an open-air experience.
Barrett-Jackson will be offering up the VIN001 GMC Hummer EV in Scottsdale, Arizona, on March 20th. Interested in finding out more? Head over to the auction house’s website and get all the details immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more automotive news coming soon.
