She’s back! The one and only, the creative and talented, FKA twigs is back. This time around, the artist returns with a new track and video called “sad day.” The track arrives after an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The track is the latest single from her upcoming album, MAGDALENE. “sad day” is intriguing and impressive, smooth and creative. These characteristics come to life in the video, as well.
FKA twigs opened up about her upcoming album with Zane Lowe. She stated: “Mary Magdalene was less from the religious aspect and more just from the feminine. [I] was more looking at her as a woman, and what she represented, what her archetype was. What was her true story? How was it manipulated?” She went on to say, “She was a healer, she had oils, she was an herbalist, she was a mystic, she was an amazing woman … I think, as an artist, I’m incredibly blessed to be making what I am now. The options to me now feel endless. That’s really great because I just think that you can break the rules.”
“sad day” follows the self-directed clip for “home with you,” and it’s one we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on.
