Generally speaking, we don’t find a lot of things inspired or influenced by Spam. While a generous portion of the population enjoys the classic canned meat, many of us can’t get past the smell. Well, today we get a dose of style and shade that comes inspired by the Spam can. The eyewear genius’ at Tavat are back. They return with a follow up to their popular SoupCan range with a new collection dubbed the SpamCan collection.
The range comes inspired by the Hawaiian food staple. The collection was constructed in Northern Italy, offering a unique and eye-catching approach to sunglasses. The SpamCan features a substantial frame crafted from a mix of bronze, zinc, and nickel alloys. Each pair crafted in 100 steps to build the 27-component frame. The hinges are host to a Swiss-made watch crown mechanism, and each frame comes fitted with melanin lenses for sharper optics and enhanced contrast.
Tavat has taken something iconic and reimagined it into something functional and stylish. While we’ve certainly never been inspired by Spam, this eyewear collection could change everything.
