The one and only, Just Joel is back. While he doesn’t want to be known as a DJ. He’s known for crafting together some of the most incredible and exceptional mixes you’ve ever heard. The other night Just Joel took over the porch at La Cuisine in Ocala, Florida for another iteration of ‘Porch Sessions’. As usual, Joel brought his a-game, as well as a slew of incredibly song choices. As he always does, the musical mastermind put together an intricately woven collection of music from an array of genres. He set the vibe, and now we get to listen to the mix anywhere and everywhere.
Dubbed “La Musique (deuxieme partie),” the mix encompasses a range of outstanding selections, including gems from the likes of Bonus Points and Flight Facilities, to Fiona Apple and the Beach Boys. While the artists may seem a bit erratic, the mix comes off flawlessly as each track effortlessly blends into the next. The rest of the mix includes tracks like “Old 45’s” by Chromeo, “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk, “Better Love” by Get to Know” and “Dreams” by The Cranberries.
“La Musique (deuxieme partie)” is something special as Joel again shows off his unique knack for blending unrelated material into something special. This man provides a listening experience and much more than just a collection of excellent listening material. If you haven’t gotten familiar with Just Joel, now would be a great time to do so.
