Kanye West – Selah

Kanye West returned on Friday, arriving with his highly anticipated new album, ‘Jesus Is King.’ We’ve been awaiting the project since he first announced an album dubbed ‘YHANDI.’ Despite a minor delay, the gospel-based album dropped and caught everyone’s attention. We spend the weekend taking a deeper dive into the project, and one song we can’t get enough of is “Selah.”

The track was actually previewed in a trailer a few days before the album’s release, and it’s undoubtedly one of the many standouts from ‘Jesus Is King. The track finds ‘Ye getting down over top of an incredible instrumental while rapping his ass off the in the process. Kanye opens things by detailing yelling at his chauffeur while at heaven’s gates.

The wordsmith raps, “Po’ the lean out slowa God is clean out of soda Before the flood, people judged. They did the same thing to Noah.” “Selah” is one of many standouts from ‘Jesus Is King,’ and its the second track on the album following a fitting intro track. The single is definitely not the one to sleep on, and its certainly one worth your time and attention.

Take a few minutes from your busy Monday and press play on this one in the stream below. In the meantime, be sure to check out the latest installment of our weekly playlist, ‘A Curation of Sound.’
