Little Brother – ‘May The Lord Watch’

It’s been entirely too long since we got a new album from Little Brother. Today that all changes as the duo returns with their highly anticipated fifth album. The new project is called ‘May The Lord Watch’ and finds Phonte and Big Rapper Pooh serving up a follow up to 2010’s Leftback. ‘May The Lord Watch’ finds the fellas cooking up some exceptional new material, again showing off their respective talents along the way. The album comes loaded up with fifteen incredible tracks. Along the way, the duo showcases their infectious abilities while getting a bevy of guest features as well.

Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh flawlessly do their thing, linking up with Khrysis, Focus and Nottz, Black Milk, Abjo, Devin Morrison, Blaaq Gold, and King Michael Coy in the process. Phonte recently spoke about the album. He stated: “I’m excited to announce that my brother Big Pooh and I are back at work.” He went on to add, “New Little Brother music and a tour are coming soon. After conversations with 9th Wonder following our Art of Cool reunion show in Durham last year, the three of us mutually agreed it was best for LB to continue as a duo, as Pooh and I have officially been LB since 2007.”

These two never disappoint, and they certainly don’t start on this one. However, the project doesn’t feature anything from 9th Wonder. Check out the new album in the stream below and keep it locked for much more new music coming soon. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to check out the fifth installment of our weekly playlist, ‘A Curation of Sound.’
