Little Simz – ‘Drop 6’ EP

If you haven’t yet experienced the sounds of Little Simz, now would be a great time to do so. Last year the artist dropped off an impressive new opus entitled GREY Area. Today Little Simz is back at it, serving up a new EP entitled ‘Drop 6.’ Never one to disappoint, she cooks up an impressive showcase of her talents, putting together a quick strike effort in the process.

‘Drop 6’ is Simz’s first project of 2020, a five-track effort that was written and recorded during the lockdown. She puts together another exceptional showcase of her talents behind the mic, also showing off her range and lyrical prowess. While she shines, she does so over top of some outstanding production. Little Simz gets tracks from Kal Banx, BLK VYNL, St Francis Hotel, and OTG, who provide a wide range of contagious soundscapes along the way.

She holds it down on her own for the most part, though she does get one guest feature from alewya. Some of our favorite tracks include “not one life, might live,” “damn right,” and “where’s my lighter.” The project is unique, energetic, and impressive; what more do you want?

Check out the new EP, ‘Drop 6’ in the stream below, and look for more new music coming very soon. In the meantime, be sure to check out the latest installment of our weekly playlist, ‘A Curation of Sound.’
