Making Moves | Verizon Customers Offered A Free Year of Disney+

With Disney+ slated to launch next month, folks are scrambling to get on board. Disney has a few tricks up their sleeve, and Tuesday, the word came down that Verizon is offering a free one-year subscription to customers. This comes as an effort to pull away potential long-term subscribers from its competitors. The new promotion will be made available for new and existing Verizon wireless unlimited customers. As well as new Fios home internet and 5G home internet customers.

If you have already pre-ordered the platform, don’t worry. You are still eligible for the aforementioned deal. Your purchase will be put on hold until Verizon’s promo period ends. The platform is set to launch on November 12th with a basic plan costing $6.99 USD per month. The service will include existing TV shows and movies from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars. Disney+ will also be compatible with iPhone, Android, Roku, Xbox, and PS4.

Kevin Mayer, chairman of Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer & International segment, released a statement. It reads: “The launch of Disney Plus kicks off a new era of streaming for The Walt Disney Company, bringing nearly a century’s worth of content from our iconic studios to consumers directly.” The statement goes on to say, “We’re excited to share this moment with Verizon and bring Disney Plus to the millions of customers across its award-winning wireless network.” This is certainly a big move and one that is sure to get Verizon some new long term customers.

Head over to Verizon to find out more and look for much more on the service coming soon. In the meantime, take a few minutes to check out everything arriving on Netflix in November.
