Murs & 9th Wonder – ‘The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over’

Way back in 2012 Murs and 9th Wonder kicked off what they would call the ‘Final Adventure.’ The project was to be their fifth and final album. However, after seven years, the emcee/producer duo are back. Murs and 9th Wonder return with album number seven. The project is titled ‘The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over.’ The album boasts twelve new tracks with features from Rapsody, GQ, Reuben Vincent, Heather Victoria, Cojo, Pookie Blow and $ilk Money.

9th Wonder holds down the production end throughout, getting some assistance from The Soul Council along the way. Khrysis, Eric G, AMP, Kash, and E. Jones, supply their production talents to the album, cooking up some incredible material for our listening enjoyment.

Murs recently opened up about the album. He stated: “9th [Wonder] and I have been working together since ’03, and we’re like brothers at this point. This album is my first release post-Strange Music and post-a lot of other major life changes.” He went on to add, “I wanted to give it my all, so my wife was kind enough to hold down the fort for a few weeks while I immersed myself in the recording process. [We spent] 18 hours a day listening to beats and trying to craft the best material possible.” Standout singles include “Unicorn Glitter,” “Night Shift,” “High Noon,” “SIN,” and “Ga$ Station Gucci Belt.” The duo delivers something special, each one bringing another solid example of their effortless talents.
