The one and only, Post Malone is back. Today the singer/songwriter returns with something new for our listening enjoyment, sort of. The artist has dropped a cover track of Hootie & The Blowfish’s “Only Wanna Be with You.” The cover was released in honor of the 25th anniversary of Pokémon. Mr. Malone puts his own spin on the 1995 classic, even implementing sound effects reminiscent of the original Pokémon video game.
The track arrives a day before the Pokémon Day 25th anniversary celebration and virtual concert, which goes down tomorrow at 7 p.m. EST. Posty will perform the “Pokémon 25 Version” during the event, which will be available on the official Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels, and on Pokémon’s 25th-anniversary website. Post does his thing and serves up a new spin on an old hit.
