Print & Go | Polaroid Originals Unveils The Polaroid Lab

The good folks over at Polaroid Originals have been supplying instant photo options for decades. Today the brand is back, expanding on a concept initially seen nearly a decade ago. The Polaroid Lab is a unique device that allows users to print physical Polaroid photos straight from an iPhone or Android‘s digital image library. The Polaroid Lab begins its process when a smartphone is placed atop the printer. The device then re-captures the photo that was previously taken, optimizing it before printing it out.

The device optimizes the image for film and prints it out into Polaroid format. The printer’s physical design language stays true to Polaroid’s original devices. The boxy black and white body has a nostalgic look, boasting a red analog button and rainbow branding. An accompanying app allows users to alter various settings, a lot like Instagram’s editing mode. This provides control over exposure and color correction. The app also offers the option to turn one large image into a collage of Polaroids by breaking up the original image into nine separate prints. The Polaroid Lab charges over Micro USB and should last around a month on a single charge. Any type of film is accepted by the device, except for SX-70.

Take a closer look at this unique device in the images below and look for the Lab to release online and at select stores on October 10th. Keep it locked here to The Culture Curators for more tech, gadgets, and electronics coming soon.
