As we get ready for the 2019-2020 NBA season to tip-off, PUMA returns, bringing style back to the court. Phoenix Suns and PUMA Hoops Star, Deandre Ayton is releasing his first sneaker collaboration, and today we get our first look at the sneakers. Dubbed the RS-X DEANDRE, the bold new silhouette boasts a colorful approach with modern sensibilities. The sneakers come rocking colors inspired by his hometown of Nassau, Bahamas, boasting an aqua blue inspired by the Bahamian national flag.
The RS-X was relaunched last year from PUMA’s original RS style in the ‘80s. The sneaker features a chunky, retro silhouette, offering the brand’s signature cushioning technology with a fresh new look. The silhouette has been one of Deandre’s favorite styles to wear off the court, and for good reason. Other features include a rubber outsole providing traction and grip. The kicks also come with a lightweight PU midsole, original RS branding details, and a thick padded tongue and lining. This is the first collaboration between Deandre and PUMA after the brand signed the 2018 #1 overall pick in the NBA Draft last year. As an added bonus, for each pair of RS-X DEANDRE’s sold, PUMA will donate $25 to assist relief efforts in the Bahamas following the destruction of Hurricane Dorian.
