Revamped & Retooled | Y-3 & adidas Bring Back The Yuuto

Y-3 has built a reputation on crafting and creating forward-thinking streetwear and sneakers. With outstanding attention to detail, quality and craftsmanship, Y-3 and adidas have created an array of outstanding and impressive silhouettes. Today they are back, ushering in a classic as they bring back the Yuuto. This eye-catching silhouette is an archived 15-year-old Y-3 x adidas creation that has become known for its progressive geometric design.

The sneaker was revived by Yohji Yamamoto in a triple black colorway, offering something sleek and stylish, while details of red accents provide a nice contrast throughout. The Yuuto is seen split into two sections. There is a coated textile upper on the front that offers a retro aesthetic, rocking rubberized locks see on the vamp and tongue. The rear is made from mesh and features geometric plastic overlays. The sneaker is also host to an internal lacing system that is concealed while sitting on top of an adiPRENE sole unit. The geometric theme continues to the sole, where triangular inserts add a nice touch. The sole unit is crafted from lightweight EVA which provides impact absorption and in-step support.

The Yuuto is finished off with a rubberized toe cap, a contemporary take on a waffled outsole and dual branding, including a red adidas EQT motif on the tongue and Yamamoto’s signature on the lateral side.
