She’s already taken over music, now she’s diving head first into the world of fashion. Billie Eilish has been a busy young woman in 2019, and in July especially. After unleashing the “Bad Guy” remix with Justin Bieber and being included in a special Murakami exhibition, Billie Eilish is back at it once again. This time around the 17-year-old singer is seen starring in MCM’s Fall/Winter 2019 campaign. Billie is seen alongside rapper Childish Major, showcasing a genderless appeal and MCM’s iconic style.
The campaign features a bevy of MCM classics and some new designs as well. We see both artists rocking a variety of transformative layering pieces and leather goods. Major’s technical vest zips up into Eilish’s parka, showcasing the collections fluidity and functionality. The campaign was photographed by London-based photographer Lea Colombo utilizing a collage technique to highlight the versatile goods. Key pieces from the range include baggy tracksuits, leather bucket hats, quilted coats, and branded sweaters. The range is draped in neutral tones which contrast the pinks and natural leather of MCM‘s signature leather waist bags and backpacks.
Billie spoke about working with MGM and her personal style. The artist stated: “I love to glorify the things that make people uncomfortable,” adding “We’re so used to one way of living that we think other peoples’ lifestyles are wrong — sometimes automatically, without even thinking. I want to mess with what people are used to. I want to be that other.” MCM’s global creative officer Dirk Schönberger also added “I’m not delusional: MCM is a leather goods brand, and we will not push that aside. But we want to build the ready-to-wear and shoes business organically.”
