Style Retooled | Herschel Supply Links With New Balance For 801 Sneaker Collabo

No strangers to style, Herschel Supply is back with something new. Nearly six years after partnering with New Balance, the two have come together once again. This time around the Vancouver-based travel lifestyle brand reimagines the footwear company’s all-terrain 801 sneakers. They have also unveiled a capsule collection of clothing and accessories. The collaboration does, however, mark the first time New Balance has allowed another brand to revamp the trail-inspired 801 runner.

The sneaker was initially launched in 1998, notable for fusing city and trail running into one silhouette. This has become the norm these days, though ahead of its time upon its first introduction. New Jersey Nets point guard Stephon Marbury shot the 801s into the mainstream when he wore them on a 1999 SLAM magazine cover. Herschel serves up their take on the sneaker, pushing it forward with a modern lifestyle aesthetic. The sneaker arrives in three distinct colorways, offering a chunky-soled design with New Balance’s Abzorb midsole. The sneaker offers unparalleled cushioning and support. Details include reflective accents, while “All Terrain” embroidery at the heel counter and multiple co-branded elements finish things off. Herschel Supply will also release a selection of apparel and accessories, including a crossbody bag, hip pack anorak, and a long-sleeve T-shirt.
