The good folks over at adidas are back at it yet again. As the official uniform and footwear brand of the Little League® World Series, adidas is doing something special for the kids. adidas created a Maker’s Lab within the player lounge for athletes to express their creativity and customize their gear. This gives young athletes the chance to create custom cleats for #teamadidas athletes for MLB Players’ Weekend.
One of the highlights of the Little League World Series in Williamsport is a collaboration between the league and MLB. Two MLB teams will play in Williamsport, giving kids a personal look at the big leagues. The cleats were designed specifically for Major League Baseball’s Player’s Weekend, which takes place this weekend. Players can wear special jerseys with nicknames and hashtags on them, and unique footwear as well.
Designed For MLB Players’ Weekend!
Among those wearing special cleats are stars such as Aaron Judge, Kiké Hernandez, Justin Turner, and others. A.J. Pollack, Liam Hendriks, Joe Kelly, Kolten Wong, and Ross Stripling will also showcase the custom styles. Each athlete had a special theme for their designs. Judge chose a “unity” theme and has cleats that feature the signatures of all 216 players in the World Series. Other standouts include Justin Turner’s design, which was designed by the squad from Mexico. Liam Hendriks is from Australia, and the Australian team went all-in with designs that embrace their roots.
The cleats are eye-catching and unique, and an excellent way for the Little Leaguers to get involved. Take a look at the images below for a closer look and look for the cleats in action this weekend during MLB Players’ Weekend. Keep it locked here to The Culture Curators for much more from adidas and more from the world of sports coming very soon.
