After taking some time off to do their own thing, only to return better than ever, The Cool Kids are back at it once again. The incredibly talented duo have been working on some new material, occasionally serving up some loosies for our listening pleasures. This time around Chunk Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks returns, pairing up their respective talents with those of The Alchemist for a brand new EP.
The contagious and quite impressive new project is entitled ‘Layups’ and finds the fellas cooking up a solid and rather infectious array of new material. While short of material, the EP is long on talent as Al, Chuck and Mikey effortlessly do their thing. Along the way, while providing us with their uncanny and unadulterated talents, the fellas are joined by collaborators Boldy James and Shorty K who leave their mark on the EP as well. The production from The Alchemist, who delivers some of his gritty smoothness for the fellas to excel upon. ‘Layups’ includes “WTF” with Boldy James, “Polansky” featuring Boldy James and Shorty K, and the title track, “Layups.”
