The Future of Flight? | Kitty Hawk Reveals The 8-Motor VTOL Aircraft

The drawbacks of aircraft with traditional propulsion are significant. However, they are still the most popular for moving us around the world. The biggest issue with traditional aircraft is that they are gas guzzlers and extremely loud. The good folks over at Kitty Hawk are looking to change the aircraft industry, offering a solution for the gas-guzzling, loud designs that we are familiar with. The Kitty Hawk Heviside was created primarily for recreational use.

The aircraft is a single-seater aircraft that features eight all-electric motors. There are six motors on the wings and two beside the nose, allowing the Heaviside to hover as low as three feet above the ground. The all-electric power is a big plus, while only producing 38 decibels of sound in flight. Compare that to traditional helicopters, which produce 60 or more. This means the Heaviside is virtually silent when compared to traditional. Is this the beginning of flight for the future? Only time will tell.

The aircraft is still in the testing phase, though it could change the game forever. Find out more about the Heviside from Kitty Hawk and learn more about the future of flight. Keep it locked here to The Culture Curators for more new rides of shapes and sizes coming soon.
