There are a few footwear brands that have the history and legacy that New Balance has. They’ve been crafting iconic, functional and comfortable footwear for decades, and they’re back. The 997 is an icon. The legendary silhouette is back, and it returns in a striking, eye-catching and classic design. New Balance has paired up with Red Wing Boots to give the classic 997 model a premium Americana makeover. Known for their signature burgundy/maroon hues, Red Wing drapes the 997 in these classic colors.
The upper boasts supple tan suede, with material contrast provided by buttery light brown leather on the tongue. The sneaker comes with an eggshell white midsole that provides comfort and support. The sneakers are also host to unique co-branded detailing on the insole; providing something fashionable and functional. Steve Gardener, New Balance General Manager Lifestyle, spoke about the collaboration. He stated: “We saw the opportunity to bring together the best of both brands in a truly desirable shoe. By blending the extraordinary aesthetics of Red Wing and the classic design of the New Balance Made in US 997, the heritage of both brands and their unique appreciation of craftsmanship are perfectly combined.”
