Robert Irwin is currently showing his own exhibition at Sprüth Magers Berlin. The American artist was commissioned to create a site-specific installation at Kraftwerk Berlin to coincide with the event. The installation, dubbed Space and Light, is his largest European work to date. The installation features a wall of fluorescent light tubes that evoke a rhythmic pattern throughout.
The installation was commissioned by the art foundation, Light Art Space (LAS), and measures roughly 52′ x 52′. The goal of the installation is to look at our own relationships with the built environment. Mr. Irwin was a pioneer of the Light and Space art movement that started in the 1960s. His latest installation, Space And Light, will be on display until January 29th.
Take a look at the creation in the images and find out more from Kraftwerk Berlin right now. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art news, installations, and releases coming very soon.
