Art x Expression | GR Gallery “Surface Fetish” By Dalek & Buff Monster

Who doesn’t love art? It surrounds us daily, inspiring, providing direction, and offering unique forms of self-expression. GR Gallery continues to showcase and celebrate modern art, recently kicking off a special collaboration exhibition. GR Gallery recently opened “Surface Fetish,” a collaborative exhibition of new artworks by Dalek (James Marshall) and Buff Monster.

The artists developed a distinctive and iconic style in contemporary art, offering complementing and contrasting elements to one another. “Surface Fetish” combines their work and vision in a “captivating and goofy way”. The showcase boasts an immersive experience that transports visitors to a kaleidoscopic world. Along the way, the two showcase their funky characters and bright uncommon shapes.

The showcases title references the glossy-pop “LA look” style of the sixties, pushing beyond the boundaries of their passion and care for details. The bright and trendy layout and dreamy imagery are a brilliant blend, providing an open dialogue on contemporary society and culture. “Surface Fetish” is a sequel to Dalek and Buff Monster’s collaborative show “Spaced Out” held in early 2018.

The exhibition opened on October 17th, though it will be on display until November 17th 2019. Head over to GR Gallery to find out more about the exhibition and find out more about Dalek and Buff Monster while you’re at it. Keep it locked with The Culture Curator and our art department for more modern and contemporary collections coming soon.
