A Look At Robert Nava’s “Thunderbolt Disco”

The American artist Robert Nava is showing his first solo exhibition in the UK. The artist has taken over Pace London with a new exhibition entitled “Thunderbolt Disco.” Known for his love of mythological symbolism, Nava has displayed a series of vibrant, bold, and unique paintings at Pace’s Hanover Square location.

Nava released a statement regarding the exhibition. He stated: “I wanted to return to my childhood interests.” He added, “I wanted to see these fabled creatures in my studio. I’m interested in a new kind of mythmaking, even though there are no real stories behind them yet. It opened up a world of imagination while preserving a childlike drive.”

The body of work was made over the last two years. The exhibition also features some of his largest paintings to date. Nava stated: “If you remove meaning, feeling gets a chance to raise its hand higher.”

Check out a few images from the exhibition below and head over to Pace London for more information. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art news, exhibitions, and releases coming very soon.
