The one and only Damien Hirst is back! The British artist recently launched a new exhibition featuring over 40 works in St. Moritz, Switzerland. The exhibit is entitled Mental Escapology’ and stretches over four various locations in the Swiss city. The world-renowned artist has created indoor and outdoor installations, all organized with the assistance of the city of St. Moritz.
The exhibition is seen across several venues and two historical buildings: the neo-classical Forum Paracelsus in St. Moritz Bad and the Protestant Church in the center of St. Moritz. One highlight is a series of two large-scale sculptures. One is a 12-foot-tall work entitled The Monk, which is on display in the center of the frozen Lake St. Moritz. The other is called Two Figures with a Drum, which is installed on the north-eastern edge of the lake. Both were part of Hirst’s major 2017 exhibition,”Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable.”
Elsewhere Hirst displays works from his iconic series such as Natural History, Spot Paintings, Butterfly Colour Paintings, and Mental Escapology.
