The interdisciplinary British artist Jam Sutton is back. Known for creating works that explore technology and antiquity, the artist returns with a new NFT. The artist uses 3D scans of his subjects, augmented reality, and 3D printing to develop unique sculptures that question representations of the body. Sutton is preparing to release a collection of augmented reality sculptures as NFTs on Nifty Gateway, created in partnership with IV Gallery. Entitled ‘Through Constant Decay,’ the collection features self-portraits of the artist as three-dimensional sculptures.
The works are inspired by ancient Greek and Roman statues, offering a unique twist in the process. Sutton spoke about his creations and stated: “I want to create impressions of figures, casting a representation of my subject as a digital shell, cracked and imperfect from glitches during the scanning process. I’m attempting to capture the essence of existence and suspending it in digital and physical spaces.” Each NFT arrives with an AR marker that allows you to place the sculpture in your space using the Jam Sutton Studio app.
For those interested in adding some new art to their digital realm, ‘Through Constant Decay’ is available on Nifty Gateway right now. Check out the AR artworks in the images and keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art and NFT releases coming soon.
