Buju Banton – Memories Ft. John Legend

Back in 2018, Buju Banton was released from prison. He was deported back to Jamaica after nearly a decade on trial for and incarcerated on drug charges. Now the artist is gearing up to drop his first album in 10 years, a new opus called Upside Down. Today he’s back with the first single from the upcoming project, a smooth new jam called “Memories.” The track finds Buju pairing up with none other than John Legend, cooking up something quite contagious in the process.

The track is an interesting and unlikely combination, but one that works rather well. Buju opened up about his friendship with John and more. He stated: “Things change, people change, time changes, but good friendship and memories will never change. This is another special one with my good friend John. We hope the masses love it.” Mr. Legend also opened up about working with the legend. He stated: “I was so excited to collaborate with Buju on another song. He’s an icon, and this song is another classic.” The results are incredible and something we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on.

Take a few minutes from your busy day and check out the new single, “Memories” in the stream below and look for Upside Down soon enough. In the meantime, be sure to check out the latest installment of our weekly playlist, ‘A Curation of Sound.’
