Common – Hercules Ft. Swizz Beatz

Chicago native wordsmith and legend in the rap game, Common is back. You may have seen the clip of Common showing off his lyrical talents in an impromptu freestyle session in the streets of New Orleans, but today he’s officially back. With a new album on the horizon, Common returns with a brand new single called “Hercules” for our listening pleasures.

The track is the latest offering from Common’s impending album, Let Love, which is slated to arrive a little later this Summer. Common again shows off his lyrical prowess and his timeless delivery, pairing up with Swizz Beatz in the process. Common recently opened up about his impending album and this new single. The Chi-town representative stated: “This album is inspired by the book Let Love Have the last Word, which gave me a path to write about things I had never written about before.” He went on to further add “It forced me to go deeper and because I opened up about so many things in the book, I was charged to go to raw, personal and spiritual places in the music. Production-wise, I knew that the music had to have depth, soul, and dimension to it. I wanted the musicianship and the spirit of what live music brings, but it also had to have something raw and basement about it.”

“Hercules” is just the latest from Let Love, following up the J Dilla-produced “HER Love” with Daniel Caesar. The new single was released with a corresponding music video, which even features a cameo from Vince Staples.

Take a few minutes from your busy day and check out the new single, and the new video for “Hercules” in the stream. Be sure to keep it locked for more from Common coming soon and look for Let Love on August 30th; you know where.
