It’s been far too long since we last heard from DRAM. The last project he dropped was over a year ago, and these days he’s putting work on his follow to Big Baby DRAM. Today DRAM links up with H.E.R. and Watt for a smooth new effort called “The Lay Down.”
DRAM opened up about the track recently. He stated: “No one sings anymore. Ain’t no true SANGERS out there. Nobody’s taking it to the stage. No one’s pouring their heart out, but that pattern stops here.” DRAM went on to say, “Over the last two years, I’ve been working on my sophomore album while simultaneously going through the ups and downs of life in general. As a result of this, many of these experiences have been heavily reflected in my work moving forward. As I mature, so does my sound. I’ve always considered myself more of a singer/songwriter so this time around; I’m really owning my R&B and soul roots. So, as you can tell, I’m excited about introducing you to the new Big Baby DRAM chapter.”
“The Lay Down” is a smooth example of DRAM’s talents behind the mic. He delivers nicely alongside H.E.R. and Watt, getting quite an instrumental to excel upon in the process. Check out the contagious new single in the stream below and stay tuned, much more new music is on the way.
