Ready or not, football season is right around the corner. While the anticipate and hype builds for the 2019 NFL season, the XFL is making some noise of their own. Back in early 2018, Vince McMahon announced he was relaunching the XFL. The league is set to return in 2020, however before the games take place, the XFL has shared today the logos and names of the eight teams competing. Over the past two years, the XFL has been working to determine the team locations.
The league has also moved to sign stadium agreements and hire head coaches. The XFL has also sent out hundreds of draft pool invitations to prospective players and has already signed veteran quarterback Landry Jones. A draft is expected to take place in October, followed by a minicamp in December and training camp in January 2020.
The XFL’s commissioner, Oliver Luck, recently spoke about the moves being made. He stated: “We’re anxiously awaiting the Labor Day cuts that will take place where there will be another group of players available.” Mr. Luck went on to add, “Things have gone as well as expected.” Each of the eight teams will consist of 40-man rosters that will face off in a 10-game season. Today we get a look at the team names and team logos, which can be seen below. The XFL lasted for only one season back in 2001. Though McMahon has promised the revamp will be safer and more entertaining this time around.
