Pennywise is getting ready to invade theaters once again. Back in May, we got our first look at ‘IT: Chapter 2’ from Warner Bros., and today we get a look at the second trailer for the upcoming horror sequel.
The new trailer made its official debut at San Diego Comic-Con, and it shows some new footage of Pennywise tormenting the Losers Club. This time around the Club is full of grown-ups while being juxtaposed with the younger versions of the characters from the first installment. The trailer starts with the adult Losers Club including James McAvoy as Bill, Bill Hader playing Richie, Jay Ryan as Ben, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, James Ransone as Eddie and Jessica Chastain who plays Bev.
The group reunites at a Chinese restaurant before remembering their terrifying experience. They even reminisce about the evil that still lives on in the town. In one clip Bill is seen following a kid into a funhouse before Pennywise confronts Bill and the child. Before smashing his head into a wall, Pennywise drags his long tongue against the funhouse’s glass wall. The trailer then wraps up with the adults heading back to Pennywise’s lair.
The film is set almost 30 years after the events of 2017’s IT. Check out the intense new trailer below and look for the film when it hits theaters September 6, 2019. The first installment pulled in $700 million USD, so the bar has been set very high.
