‘Top Gun’ was one of the biggest films of the ’80s, and it certainly propelled Tom Cruise into a new stratosphere. It’s hard to believe its been 34 years since ‘Top Gun’ introduced us to Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. Well, after over three decades since the original film, “Maverick” is back and today we get our first look at the upcoming film, ‘Top Gun: Maverick.’
The film takes place 34 years after the original and finds Pete “Maverick” Mitchell as a flight instructor, teaching his late partner’s son, Nick “Goose” Bradshaw. “Goose’s” son is looking to follow in his Father’s footsteps, while Val Kilmer, who placed Iceman, will also be involved with the film. While Tom Cruise has become known for performing his most dangerous stunts, he was not able to fly the F/A 18 Hornets featured in the film due to government law. However, there are several authentic cockpit shots and stunning flight visuals that definitely make up for it.
The film will also star Jon Hamm, Jennifer Connelly, Miles teller, and Ed Harris. The trailer provides a look at what we can expect, doing so without revealing too much about the plot.
