The Magnolia Courtyard House is a prime example of contemporary architecture, located in Seattle while offering the rugged views seen in rural Washington. How? Well, this unique structure is organized around a central courtyard which is filled with alpine trees and wild grasses.
The home has large windows that integrate the landscape into the interior, while details such as hardwood-framed glazed doors slide open to create a seamless transition. The exterior deck is a great place to enjoy the natural elements while a pair of board-form concrete volumes shield the garden retreat from neighbors. Black panels provide a bit of seclusion and privacy for the upper level, while the interior of the home continues its modern aesthetic. The palette of concrete, wood, and dark finishes plays well with the contemporary furnishings, providing a sleek yet welcoming atmosphere throughout.
